i think you should try out crystal red shrimps...

look at how much grade SSS are worth in Yen

they are crazy prices...i really hope i can be successful in this challenge of breeding them...

if you do end up becoming intesreted in shrimps, i can send you some, or if you end up breeding them and get some frys you can trade :grin:

amano shrimps are the best..but for a quick job get a bunch of nerite snails

oho i meant to reply to this thread rather the otd one, responded to the other thread by mistake had 2 browser windows open...

300 litres is a good size, are you planning on redoing the aquascaping?

i got my java moss and marimo balls yesterday via the post, i spent the evening playing nintendo wii and pissing off all my friends here by working on my aquarium lol

next on the shopping list, HC for the foreground of the 13.5 litre (finally a UK store has gotten back to me and will ship here) and riccia fluitans (floating plant to be tied down on rocks or a grid)

this aquarium shit is addictive and taking up more time that i thought..but at least it's calming

Yes, I think I'm going to have a big overhaul of the planting, and bog wood, just got some new plants, cant find java moss, but I'll keep looking, As I like the look of it a lot.

Contemplating doing away with the fluros, and hanging a 250w metal halide over it, as I have a few spares not in use.

I think the main prob my tank is having, is a lack of good light.

i can send you some java moss if you want, i have extra. otherwise, there are lots of ebay auctions for java moss, especially within the UK. if you've never used ebay...time to use it now if you're starting to go into this aquascaping hobby, there are lots of good deals there (REALLY good).

java moss tied to your bogwood would be awesome! and let me just tell you that shit grows fast..i'm already seeing some lateral growth on some strands which weren't there yesterday (or maybe i'm just seeing things). all the mosses are pretty easy to grow and don't need co2 or high light

I'll try to dig out an old pic of when my java ferns were doing a lot better, but
then I introduced a couple of fish that loved to eat it, and that knocked it for 6.

There gone now, so hopefully it will start to recolonise, as it used
to grow like crazy, and all the rhizomes are still there, and starting to resprout.

You'll have to bring me a bit of moss, and a few shrimp in may :grin:

If you have time, we could visit a place i know near slough, its a place
where most of the aquarium shops buy their stock from, a warehouse sized aquarium shop :wink:
