Flipping Substrate Jars?

It has been 7 days since i have innoculated my jars. I go to check one today and the one i did check is about 1/4 the way covered of pure white mycelium with grey edges. Now i have been checkin these boards from time to time and i have noticed how some people flip there jars over after a certain time period, but i wasnt really sure what the purpose of that was. Can anybody explain the reasons behind this and do you recomend doing it? thnx in advance.

If your colonization stalls on the bottom of your jars you can flip them to give them a bit of air and they seem to speed up again. I think it also has to do with the extra moisture at the bottom of the jars.

jars are flipped due to co2 buildup which causes slower colonization....when you flip the jar the c02 then runs to the top(now bottom) of the jar...some even losen the lids a little to let the c02 out

I flipped mine a day ago and it does help with spreading the mycelium around quicker. I even slammed mine down to make a little space on the now top side..
