adding a cd burner to my computer....

im going to take the cd burner out of my brothers dell computer and put it into my other dell... do i need to download a special driver?

the computer im putting it into is only 500 mhz... do you guys think this will be too slow for a cd burner?

You'll be fine. That stuff is generic and windows can take care of it. 500Mhz is slow but I had one in my 300Mhz and never had a problem.

so no new drivers or software is needed?

i guess i can just burn in media player so that would take care of any needed software

Yeah, the drivers should be installed when you first plug in the cd-rom and reboot the computer, and software, well, whatever you burn with, be it nero or WMP, it's fine.
