I don’t typically like to involve myself in threads regarding unsubstantiated claims of distribution, that said, a trusted and knowledgeable friend of mine made a collection of Psilocybe cubensis in the state of New Mexico. This occurred approximately ten years ago in the Gila National Forest area.
NM is a state with a fairly broad climactic range as it relates to geographic variability within its boarders.
Of course this find was only one collection and by no means would I assume this could be interpreted as a call to all residents of New Mexico to run to the fields in search of abundant mushrooms, as it was likely an exceptional find.

Well, I trust georgeM, and he trusts his friend, so I'm inclined to believe this chain of hearsay. And indeed NM is a varied and wonderful place (evidently). However, this thread has become as much a forum on fungirape's almost certain BS indicating plentiful and giant cubie finds as of the potential existence of cubes in NM.

Ive onyl found them in Mouintainair.

so i say residents of central NM head to the cow fields.

Ive noticed with this strain the veil stays attached until the cap is almost extremly flat.

Definitely doesn't hurt to look, with new species popping up and old species relocating, everyone should keep an eye out for anything that bruises blue.

I got my hands of a spore print from a wild specimine 3 miles outside of mountainair. I used agar because the print was wild.

I then made a casing the FAE has been low but here are the fruits.

He said that they were grown from a wild print, in an area that people are debating the existence of cubensis or not.  He is just trying to show proof that they are cubes and can be huntedin the area of debate.  Id say those pics are just fine there....and damn a few cube pics never hurt anyone.  Rip a bong and chill, you've been goin off on a lot of people lately. :eek: Yeah i said it. :stoned:
