If you ever won the lottery

So suppose that you just won the lottery, after you pay all of your taxes and walk away, youre left with $40 million dollars. what would you do with the money?



I would do the following things, but i would make one thing clear. I would do all of this anonymously. I wouldnt want the public to know that i was the backer, or that i even won the lottery. Actually i would prefer that my family didnt know either, just because money can change how people think of you... anyhow.

1) fund ecstasy data's research for atleast another 5 years (www.ecstasydata.org)

2) attempt to buy out erowid and all of the other informational websites focusing on safe responsible drug use (shroomery, dancesafe, etc) and form them under a single corporate veil. Then i would form a legal defense fund to ensure that they will continue to run for years and years without political poressure or intimidation. I wouldnt want any controll over them, just to ensure that they will keep running getting info to those that need it.

3) personally sponsor and run an orginization that actively lobbied for the legalisation of all drugss. ( the last pro marijuana loby in colorado ran on only $60,000 and managed to get a 43% vote, if more money was put into a legalisation campaign, it could and would gain popular vote and pass)

4) donate money into alternative fuel research based on the development of algae growth and harvesting as a starting point for bio diesel.

5) Hold a giant festival out in the middle of nowhere, hosting every band that I have ever wanted to see. Tickets would be given away for free. However, i would monopolise the festival industries (food water beer etc to offset the cost of all the big names and infastructure, all profits would be donated to aids research)

5) buy a personal jet and learn to fly it, as well as a motorcycly or 2 to bring with me so i could travel after i landed. Also, a few diesel mercedes as well :smile: (hey i have to have some fun with it, right? :smile: )

If I won the lottery

1. I would buy a house.

2. Give each of my parents the same amount. Give my sister a smaller amount. I would also give a small amount for my little brother but make it so he could not touch it until hes 21 or older.

3. I would then travel the world and see if my ex girlfriend wanted to come with me.

4. Save the rest, finish college and live a humble life with a wonderful family.

I like your list a lot.

I think I would feel bad sponsoring drug research so much without putting at least some towards charities that directly make a difference without all the politics though, eg, abused children, animals, conservation, that sort of thing. Research is good but action goes further.

thats true, there needs to be more money going into various charities, but as of now, drug research is really hindred by a lack okf acceptance and funding.

i would also donate to the CCLE (shulgins foundation) MAPS and a few others that i cant think of right now

every time i'm confronted with this question i give a different answer :smirk:
there are loads of things i'd like to do but basically right now i'd like to be self sufficient (that would require owning my own land somewhere maybe even a few pieces in different places?)

i would like to sort out my close family and friends (i think i'll buy my parents a house some where and just stay where i am right now instead of getting my own place :smirk:)

i would like my own business so that my money could sort of "work for me"?

i'd like to travel

i'd like to study

the list goes on but i'm much too tired to complete it right now...
i'd do some good things all around though :tongue:

i'll tell you what i'd do, man! two chicks at the same time. -office space.

on the note of sustainable energy, you ever heard about ocean wave power. its bitchin. basically a bouy is anchored to the ocean floor as the ocean level rises and falls it takes the bouy up and down over a magnet and the coils inside the bouy create a charge which moves through a wire to batteries or capacitors or someshit. i read about it in high times or heads. i think its awesome.

well i'm a selfish fuck...so it'd be simple.


1. Buy any and all old hotroddable and classic car i've ever wanted.

2. build a bat cave to live in and store the cars ,a Garage and hotrod shop would be the above ground Cover.

3.build me mom a real house and car and shit,get her finally to stop working after all these years.

4.have one fuck of a nice metal/wood shop.




now really all that would probably not cost any where near 40mil so the rest would just be comfortable living and then....after ALL that...some charity.....MAYBE

I'd spend a few years planning and collaborating, then I'd spend 99% on education.  A world forum to debate and decide political issues, opening big government to little citizen.  The general public would also need to be  informed of all the things they should know, but don't.  I'd hopefully create peace and open communication throughout the earth.  :sun:

Abolishment of compartmentalized knowledge that give the few power over the great.

probably host and fund a giant worldwide shroomery gathering every year.
pay all debt off for my family, and buy them all houses.

then design and build my house on the beach.
then to the charities of my choice.
and spend the rest on as big a piece of land as possible, plant a fuck loads of trees and then fix global warming for my kids and grand children.
