Commit a crime, forfeit your lottery winnings?

Someone told me that if you win the lottery and commit certain crimes (such as DUI), you forfeit the rest of your winnings that you are due.
Is this true? Imagine you think you're set for life, then you get busted for a gram of weed and lose every lottery check you're due in the future.

I sincerely hope that isn't true...
If I hit the lottery, I'm sure I'd make many poor legal choices

The person who told me this said that this rule only applies if you get the checks each year. You get to keep your money if you commit a crime, but have already accepted the lump sum.

Imagine you've already gone to work naked for your last day, started buying things, giving away your old stuff, etc. and then you get busted for a resonated pipe and lose everything.

The lump sum is usually the best way to go anyways.
