Panda, try listening to some Built to Spill. I'm sure you will find some songs you like. They are pretty diverse, but their basic sound is awesome.

Multiple guitar overdubs, experimentation (thats how they write most of their stuff), long winded jams that don't get annoying, songs with a message, creative walking bass lines, there is something in their catalogue for every progressive/jam rock listener.

not trying to but in ... or be bias.... but just so you all know the reason any of you have ever eaten LSD or any psychedelic in general is largely because of the dead. the net work was and  still is to a lesser extent, bigger than you can imagine. you should at least have respect. not saying you don't. maybe its just not your cup of tea..... although a lot of people do not like them right away... i know for me it took a while. and then one time it just clicked. maybe give it some time. or maybe just say fuck it. it would be sweet if you could dig it though because their so good. haha :grin:
