Great...more snow.

As if last week's 2+ feet weren't enough, the latest forecast for the Denver metro area is possibly another foot to foot and half.  Most of the side streets are still not clear and have 4-5 inches of hard packed snow/ice everywhere.  It's like going off-roading, only not.

I think it's gonna get really scary around here in the next 48 hours. :tongue2:

Snow is falling rapidly.  I predict all hell is gonna break loose here soon.  It's crazy out there. :grin:

They have also already canceled flights at Denver International Airport.

KUSA - The snowfall in the metro area picked up intensity Thursday afternoon, landing on snow still on the ground from last week's blizzard.

9NEWS Chief Meteorologist Kathy Sabine says the metro area could get up to a foot of snow by Friday morning. The foothills and mountains on the Front Range could get up to 2 feet.

Kathy says it is likely there will be a break in the snowfall Friday afternoon before a second wave moves in by Friday evening. The second wave could drop an additional 10 to 20 inches by late Saturday.

Snowfall rates could get up to 2 inches per hour, especially in the foothills along the Front Range.

Kathy says by Friday, the foothills could see 18 to 36 inches and the mountain areas 12 to 24 inches.

Kathy says we should expect hazardous driving conditions; many highways could become icy and snow packed.

The storm could also impact travel at Denver International Airport because of gusty winds, blowing snow and drifting.

A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect until 6 a.m. on Friday for a large area, including the metro area, the Eisenhower Tunnel, Boulder and Estes Park. The warning could be extended into Saturday.

The heaviest amounts of snow are expected to be in the areas west of I-25.

North winds could get up to 10 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph. That could create blowing and drifting snow.
