Lots of Snow on the way...10+ feet

So stoked!....


There seems to be several storms lined up in the pacific all aimed to slam into California, or the west coast in general. By this time next week there is the possibility of 10+ feet of snow in the Sierras, and it looks like there are a few more storm systems lined up beyond that. Lots of cold air associated with the storms also, so the snow is going to be super fluffy and light with low water content. No shit, this is the sorta snow that you're going to need a snorkel to ski or snowboard *in, we're talking nipple deep+ snow :omgz:. (*Notice i say IN and not on:smirk:)



Some epic days of snowboarding are in the near future :awesome:, the skies might even clear between storms one day to make for a ridiculous blue bird day. If not, it's always awesome to ride on days when my tracks get filled in each run...Super stoned, just me riding down a mountain dipping through the trees, with it snowing hard, and it's pretty much absolutely dead quite except for the silent swoosh of the extremely light powder that gets thrown up as i carve....

I love huge snow storms.  The weather is finally above 0 deg in ND lately, but wouldn't mind another huge snow storm.

Holy shit 10 foot, we got 7" here and public transport fell completely apart, there was widespread panic, lost something like £600,000 off the economy because of days off work.

I was well excited though for our puny 7" ...but 10 foot thats unreal XD. I would be making snow caves and shit.

There is nothing like the feeling or riding in some nice fresh powder through the peaceful silence of the woods.

Snowboarding is the shit!

Last Thursday we got 7 inches here and I ran into a tree as I was doing powder runs through the trees.
I still got a big ass bruise on my thigh. :crankey:

Haha, 7 inches will fall in less than an hour during some of the storms here.


We get some pretty hefty dumps of snow here in northern California...350-450 inches of snowfall in an average year. But the winter of 04/05 was insane, something like 750 inches fell in some spots (that's 60+ feet)....



The next 36 hours is the calm before the storm :crazy:

There really isn't anything that comes close to the feeling i get when i'm floating in powder jammin through the trees, with no one around....It's the best feeling ever. Especially when riding stoned, feels so surreal.



I've had some near misses with riding through the trees. Still haven't hit a tree though...But i have got bushwacked by a branch or two, and have gone off random drops i didn't see coming...

i'm in eastern washington, where it snows a shit ton every year. It's my first year out here so i hope we get slammed.  I heard there was like 8' on the ground last year.

it's been warm and rainy the past few days.  (by warm, i mean 45º high)
