people would reach underneath the bank to grab the fish with their bare hands, and some catfish were so big they could clamp their mouth onto your arm, and drag you into the water and drown your ass. scary shit.

funny but I've never heard that, living in the south all my life I think that
would be a story told quite frequently especialy since rescue divers have found
cats around 8 or so feet in lake lanier and demolition divers found some in
excess of 9 feet at nicajack

that's called noodling, you reach into the catfish's mouth while it's in a muddy bank in shallow water and grab the back of it's throat then pull it out of the water.
no one has died from doing this and being eaten by the catfish, however a few people have died when a portion of the bank will collapse on their arm and they drown.

but damn!!!!! i've really never thought about fish being that f'ing big, in lakes and rivers and shit.....Can you guys just imagine wtf is out their in the ocean right now?? like way deep in the ocean, and seas, and even lakes? prolly fish beyond our imagination, u know. i really hope those people let that world record fish go. something like that prolly doesnt exist much in this world anymore. wow, just makes me rethink about life and shit
