Yessss, please!  Send the big unit to Arizona, best of luck to him, may he have a great trip to his 300th win.  Despite winning 17 games in each of his seasons with NYC, I'd much rather lose Randy for a couple of pitchers, free up some payroll, and target the big guns towards Zito. :yesnod:

Why you would want Zito is beyond me, see my remarks in the other thread. A California flake on a long, decidedly downward trend. Problem is, the Diamondbacks have serious deferred compensation issues to deal with. Colangelo paid a lot of future money to win and now they're on the hook for about 25 million a year for players not on the team. Now that's not shit for the Yankees but for the Dbacks it hurts a lot. I don't know how much payroll they'll free up since they'll probably have to eat a bunch of it but he's useless now. Two real good prospects for Randy and we eat 6 million sounds good enough to me. Not that I don't appreciate him beating the Red Sox 5 times in 2005, just that I don't think he's got anything much left.
