starting salary part time supervisor for UPS?

anyone know what the 2006 starting salary was/is for a part time supervisor for UPS? i cant find any info on it at upsers.com or anywhere else. also my HR rep is nearly impossible to get a hold of unless you run her down in the parking lot so i fig i would try and find out on my own before chasing her all over the place. all the supervisors at my center have been there for a long time so there pay is different and they are not sure of the starting pay for a new supervisor is. so i guess I'm just asking if anyone here is a new part time sup. or noes someone that become one in the last year or 2 so i can just get a ballpark figure of the salary. Ty for help

Well, I make 15$ an hour, and my supervisor makes about 30$ more than me every week, or 60$ per one of his pay periods.

So you do the math.

The pay itself is probably a little bit higher, but he has to pay his own insurance, so.....

absolutely nothing..

i worked there for a couple months (i had to quit becuase of transportation issues)

i guess it depends on what you want to do there.. i simply unloaded trucks.. loved the job.. great work-out.

Well I once heard that it's better to become a supervisor after you've worked there as a loader for at least a year (after your two raises) because the supervisor pay is based on your loading pay. Not sure if that's true or not.

All it takes to work at UPS is being able to work, that's about it. They are always hiring people because of the high turnover rate. At my hub it's over 60% of the people quit in their first month. It is hard work, but it's a good work-out, and you can't beat the insurance.

Honestly, I would never even consider becoming a supervisor there, unless you really want to make a career out of the company.

I'm really good friends with my supervisor, he's my age, we go to school together, he's a great guy. But the shit they put him through is nuts. He's the bitch of management, puts in longer hours for comparable money, has to pay his own insurance, and has to live up to UPS' standards of neatness and appearance.

Dont get me wrong, UPS is an awesome company to work for. They take great care of me, and the work isnt terribly difficult. Yeah, if your fat and lazy it probably would suck, but if you're in decent condition its not bad.

But yeah, the whole supervisor thing is nuts. Every person in the company gets a letter once a year that you can fill out and return to be considered for a part-time supervisor post, but I always just throw it away. Doesnt seem worth it.

Nod, supervisors do have it somewhat rough, they get bitched at for the mistakes of their belt, I know they don't get paid all that much more then us grunts, and they work longer hours. Not the mention that most supervisors are hated by the loaders and pickoffs.

I plan to stay with UPS for at least a few years, but I also would never (or want to) become a sup. Not to mention I got moved to the lower belt as a pickoff, where it's about as easy as it can be, just sit on my ass and swat boxes into a trailer.

Supervisors at my building make around 300 a week, hourly make anywhere from 115-135 a week, part time hourly is only putting in 12-15 hours right now, everything sucks. It's not fun which is why I have a 2nd job on top of UPS. I have been there for a year and 6 months. I am a loader, but I am being promoted to pick off which will being me up to 11.40 an hour, so i went from 8.50 to 11.40 in a year and a half...pretty cool...I would be a supervisor but now for a year or two more...I want to hang out at pick off for a while since its something I always wanted to do.

Fuck management. Becoming a supervisor is selling out.

I still completely agree with everything I said above.

I wouldn't want to be in low-level management at this company.

Get a degree and you can jump right over that rank though.  You don't want to be a supervisor of hourly employees at a hub, though.  No way.
