pogy plant are wretched too. they use pogy fish to make dog food. the whole process smells like a fish kill. paper mills are a pure evil smell with sugar mills chasing closely in second. the irony of a sugar mill though is they smell great inside, it's just once the different smells get out the plant and mix together they smell bad.

did anyone go through lake side (rich neighborhood in N.O.) after katrina? there were month old fridges duct taped closed in front of every house. it was worse than the fish kill in franklin after hurricane andrew in 1990'ish.

oh, I nearly forgot a good anecdote...

During a high school food drive, a friend of mine brought some cans of vienna sausages. For some reason, we decided to remove a couple from their cans and place them under the desk in a small metal lip along the underside of the desk's edge. The sausages sat there over winter vacation and upon returning we discovered them there... dessicated and mold-encrusted.

My friend paid me $5 to pick one up and smell it. I nearly puked in class. :argh:

We did most of our work in on the west bank, off of Barataria Ave., but some in Gretna, and we drove though a place called Lakeview, near the city park, and thats where i saw the guinea pigs.

yeah, i meant lake view (not side). it had a shrimp boat in the middle of the road. three story houses w/ water lines on the second floor. my father in law lived across the canal from that neighborhood. his house was spared.
