I want to get a present for a good friend of mine. He has never grow mushrooms before and neither have I. I remember seeing some site a long time ago that had kits that had everything included. Can someone send me in the right direction?

Im looking for something in the 50-100$ range

you should do a search on this topic and you will find it is much more cheaper to make a shopping list here and go to walmart and get everything there!

Really though, you should go out and buy the parts to make a PmP or something. Its incredibly easy and well worth the work, and its like an arts and crafts project for a present. There is a sponsor or two that have systems already made, but you will find yourself spending a lot less money and getting a great quality setup if you just make one yourself. I recommend a PmP, but really, all you need is a $4 container, and a $4 bag of perlite, and its done.

I will admit I have not done my research on cultivation... I admit I am lazy. I do remember something about a pressure cooker though. They are expensive. The thing is... I'm sending this as a X-Mas present... so it has to be able to fit in the mail. It would just be much easier if the whole kit was there.

True, but you won't find a PC coming in a kit. As for needing one, that's really something the person you're giving it to should invest in depending on how serious (and not lazy) they are about cultivating. PCs can get up to over $200 and range in the 100-200 for a good one. Kits are great because you don't have to do anything and its just ready to go, but you can almost always find a better setup by creating one. Check these out... That setup looks fine. I would stick with a vendor if you can. I wouldn't trust pre-sterilized jars, sponsor or no sponsor. You don't need a PC for BRF jars.

this isnt a hobby for lazy people, if you wana trip go buy a bag, if you wana grow em take your time and make it worth you while and money, otherwise just go buy a kit, they all seem the same just use ur head. :confused:
