How Airtight does the Fruiting Chamber Have to be?

Hey everyone!

Im new here, well iv been cruising this site for a while but i just recently sighned up.

Anyways i wanted to know how airtight the Fruiting Chamber has to be? I have a 10 gallon fish tank if that matters....

im not the most educated but Im sure it has to be prettty airtight because you dont want any contams to be able to get in. Saran wrap will work though

Well, if you have an air pump bubbling in there, it wouldn't have to be too airtight, you need to let the air out somewere... Plus you open it up three times a day to fan, thats plenty of time for contams to get in there... Keep the lid as tight as you need to keep the humidity in, the funnly colonized mycelia should be able to fight off most contams from what i've read on here.

yea, contams won't be a big problem in the fruiting stage. use a large rubbermaid container with a loose lid that has clips on either side to secure it in place. even though it's got a weak seal, perlite humidification works perfect. any container will work as long as you keep the humidity up and fan in some fresh air multiple times daily.
