the other bridgesii monstrose

who here has seen the non-clumping monstrose strain of t. bridgesii?
Well i have two! heres my tall one. in the spring its getting repotted, fertilized, and getting sun.  Its about the age where it will start putting out pups :smile:

ive also got a 4 inch cutting im going to plant in the pot with it, it will take a few years to catch up, but by then this one will be enormous.








also this little guy is pretty, just to show the "normal"


ive also got about 10 feet of cuttings in 6'-1" peices
half of them are rooted, in the spring they are ALL getting big pots, fert and sun. woot!

too bad its not even winter yet :P


i never thought i would say this, but i need me some penis!
anyone got any penis plant that could trade a cutting?

I wish I was in the US so I was able to get the long type.
All we can get here in Aus is the short clumping type.
Nice cacti though, I really like the frosting in the 2nd pic.

Whoops, sorry about that. Having lophs I should have assumed you were in Canada anyway.
After looking at the pics again, it looks like what some in Aus call the melted wax type, it can change from normal growth to monstrose growth. Still a very desirable clone.
Do the long monstrose usually have spines all the way up though ? I thought they were smooth.
Looks like there could be four types of bridgesii rather then just 3, not including crests.

The bridgesii is a real shapeshifter. I'm having great luck with my normal bridgesii seedlings, but can't wait to grow out those scop x bridgesii seeds you sent me!

I doubt I'll ever have an eileen bridgesii- you just don't come across 'em in the USA.  :sad:

It's just a variant. Eileen is pretty amorphous as far as lagenformis shapes go; it's just an interesting plant.

well, to me it just looks like a regular bridgesii.
tho i saw some monster ones by searching, seems the be the common variety in austrailia

yah me too :smile:

its really the only trich with reliable potency.

pachanoi are low but can be bunk.
peruvians CAN be very potent, but are more than likely to not even me peruvians.
terscheckii is really too big to be frigging around with.

brigs grow fast, are relitively potent, and have lots of varieties so you dont have to just have one type for ornamntals
