Whole wheat pasta (now with pics)

Today I inoculated a pint of whole wheat pasta. I have brf and verm but I thought I would experiment with it. I soaked the pasta for a hour and a half or so and pressure cooked it. inoculated this morning. I have read whole wheat works so I have high hopes for this  :thumbup:. I'll post pics later when I start seeing colonization and I get batteries for my camera =)

I don't know what happens or what it means when they become starchy but I guess we'll see what happens.

one problem about it turning to mush is that it would take a long long time to colonize

Yes yes... the density. But if you have time, and are really lucky with keeping out the contams.... It might work.

well, I already soaked it and PC'd it and it is still whole. I thought the same thing to, that it would turn to mush, but it actually hold up quite well :smile:

okay! I used like 5cc's of LC so it shouldn't take long to colonize. I know that is kind of alot but I have so much LC i don't know what to do with it all at the moment.

K well i got a pic up...2 days since inoculation...not enough growth to phone home about but i'm sure it will take off soon. I can't get a good pic of jars for the life of me. I always get glare if I use flash or not.

btw the growth is the white blotches to the left of that big glare...

When they're fully colonized you could just add some nice sauce and case. Maybe get some red shrooms, they'd be great for valentines day.
