If you can get a book about Carl Jung and his thought's it would be better then 5 dream guide books together. Dreams are personal so you can't say a bird = freedom for every single person. Which is what most dream books try to do.
Some starting info on Carl Jung

dream books are pretty much worthless. Best thing you can possibly do is write all your dreams down as soon as you remember them and talk about them with other people.

Books cannot interpret dreams. They can give you an idea of how interpretation works but I recommend you seek an actual dream interpreter or learn to interpret your own dreams as nobody will be able to interpret YOUR dreams as well as YOU!
Here check out this website about learning to recognize and then control your dreams.(lucid dreaming) www.ld4all.com Remember your dreams are your own creation. Think of it as the smarter you trying to relay information to the well the simple part of your brain. The part of our brain we consciously think with actually works against us in alot of ways as it thinks it is our whole brain, but its not.

Lucid dreams are really something else and don't help you 'solve problems'. Right on the front page it says "Lucid Dreaming Guide will teach you how to become aware of the dreaming state so you can take control of your dreams". Once again you basically Hi-jacking the dream away from your unconsciousness which was trying to tell you something or help you work something out and all the good things that those dreams do.
Lucid dreaming is fun entertainment but if you want to interpret what your unconsciousness is trying to say it won't help.

I agree. Lucid dreaming (controlling your dreams) is different from the the funneling down of important info for our lives. I linked it for curiosity and there is alot of interesting info as you get further into that site. But, Yeah, Dreams can only be fully interpreted by the dreamer, well except personally I believe in Shamanism but thats a different deeper subject all together. NO dreams solve problems, they only make you more aware of what deep inside you already know but when shit is buried sometimes it surfaces on its own.

Dreams involve symbols, and symbols can mean different things to different people. That's why dream interpretation books tend to be bullshit. Just because a candle or a tree or whatever object you see means something to the person writing the book doesn't mean it has the same meaning for you. I agree about the Carl Jung suggestion, though.
