Sony Vegas - any masters in the house?
    #6282190 -

I've had Sony Vegas 5 and 6 for about a year now.. I have no schooling on the matter. Everything I've learned on it has been from just messing around with the program and reading a few things here and there online. I mainly use it for producing short movies (10-15mins) of PC games... thus far.. as I get my feet wet and learn more about it.

This program is insanely complex, and I've seen some of the amazing things that can be done with it. I just want to take it to the next level. So far, every single movie I've made has turned out better than the last. My editing skills continue to improve as well as my eye for special effects and how to add them as I get more and more experience. But it's still not enough.. I need to be about 300 times better.

I started off with the basics.. fading in and out of scenes, adding a simple intro, the right music, blam.. shitty.. but clean and simple. Then I learned how to blend in and out of scenes with different effects.. I'm sure I probably haven't explored half of them yet. I finally learned how to pan and crop certain sections, or zoom in on something etc.. and I just recently figured out chroma keying and cutting one image from one background and overlaying it on another background. I taught myself most of this just playing with the program and I've made about 8 movies so far.

What I'm looking for is any tutorials.. advice.. etc you may have working with this program. I know I will only get better with it over time, but I'm looking more for tutorial type things (I had a hard time finding one), or any tips you could share, this thing does have a pretty steep learning curve.. but it is just pure badass.

Thanks.
