So I found someone to Sell me some Ol' Jumbo Jets

yeah, it looks to be one of the few places in the country that stores old shitty jumbo jets for parts and repair, i get to call them monday for prices, but i think that this is definately the place everyone else has been getting their jets from... :smile: ITs Wayy south in california somewhere.

I would like to look into the possibility of renovating an old commercial jet into a house or very unique concert hall

yeah, i have seen the link with the house mounted on the giant pole, and the house that used the wing as a roof, and the other house that used an inverted nose cone as a building platform as a house.
Thing is, the guy that is offering to build you a house in a plane on a pole is a 727, and not big enough for me. And he also wants $300,000...
somthing tells me that this could be done much much cheaper.

Id like to think so, thing is its probably going to be financially impractical for me to do, so if i want to do it im going to have to work it into some sort of business plan and make money from it...

nope, this guy used the entire plane as it would sit on the tarmac as a home, gutted it and modified it, it was a sweet setup

And then you need to have utilities run into it, get permits, get it inspected and approved...

By the end you might have paid just as much for this as you would pay for a townhouse.

Well owning a house and owning a townhouse are 2 very different things. I might have spent what a townhouse costs to build it, but im damn sure i could turn right around and sell it if i wanted to, for doubble what it cost to build and permit.

the type of place that i would consider building somthing like this would be very far off the beaten path, where you would have to generate your own power, and drill your own well. There is already a septic system on these planes, and also a large onbard fuel capacity that can be used to fuel an onnboard generator.

Check out this dude's website. He makes a lot of wind generators by himself and they get decent amounts of power. Not huge but good for homemade stuff. He uses junked microwaves to create the alternators for them.
