These I found in a neighbors yard. These do not briuse blue. But a species of the sillies I guess. Does anybody know?
These I found on a walkabout. More Agaricus, also found puffballs. I'm getting spores off of the Agaricus and the puffballs. The last prints of of the Agaricus was great. Made a syringe and inoculated a jar. When I found the Agaricus I also found it's mycellium and started a jar. Who knows what will come of it.... The puffballs were small but I recognise the species and it is of the giant variety. The poor conditions it was growing in played a factor in its size. I used to find these in the feild right next to the wooded area where I found these. They used to grow the size of softballs in the open field.

Bah, those are just some agaricus. They really look nothing like cubies, stems are WAY too fat. I really don't think that cutting shrooms makes a HUGE difference, but whatever. They're not anything special. Could be edile, but I wouldnt try it. Peace out, -Gumby

The top pic is agaricus? The bottom pic I know is for sure and is edible. I'm making spore prints of the bottom ones.

Haha! I found a truckload of those a few weeks back (the first pic). Naturally, I got rather excited, especially because an unknown entity cutltured cubes for a summer and the growth, babies, heads, veil, stems, etc. were exactly like 'em, even down to the smell! The only thing different->inactive, did not stain, and they gave me some NASTY smelling poo for a day or so. And as for as the stems being too fat (GumbyDude), I disagree. The strain swim was growing had stems, at times, much fatter than those. Oh, and I wonder how many people here, when being abducted by aliens, would rather them tractor beam your whole body to the ship or snip you off at the knees.....hmmm, now theres a deep thought for ya ;0. Have a good one , Bluemoon

Bah. Strains don't apply in the wild. I really think designating strains is stupid altogether, Psilocybe cubensis is Psilocybe Cubensis. You're not going to get some fat ass cubes in the wild. You will never find cubes in the wild with that basic shape, they're way to chunky and short to be cubes. Anyway. The top pics I'm not sure of, without those veils torn it could be anything. I am going to guess either Amanitas, Strotophorias(sp?), or Agaicus. Peace out, -Gumby

Point taken about strains in the wild, I think I'm with you there. I do see how those mushrooms in the upper pic can be very deceptive though, especially to a swim that has grown them before (not wild... should we say, domesticated, cubies? ). Hey gumby dude, if ya got a chance would you take a shot at ID'ing the shrooms on the "ID in VA" post of mine? (including anyone else) I'm just about to add a couple more pics found today. I haven't had anyone reply yet and I'm feeling oh so left out...sniff..., but I'll move on. Thanks yall, Bluemoon
