Is FAQ Contributions Obsolete?
    #6224455 -

Does the new content management system negate the need for the forum? If so, is there any reason we should keep the forum?

I don't have an answer but I think it's a good question. There's definitely some overlap going on between the CMS and certain forums. On the one hand it's never a great idea to mess with something that isn't broken. On the other hand it would be the right move from a usability and organization standpoint if everything was consolidated. Guess it warrants further discussion.

What happened to it?

I think it was a great forum. It's nice to have a forum where submissions can be commented on, added to, disputed, discussed, worked on, etc. If anything's going to become a FAQ it should have to do it's time here first for debate and corrections.

That's exactly why Ythan created the new CMS for, see http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Number=6130879
