While the new design is very neat and crisp, i must say that i like the old one better. Now i dun wanna put my foot in my mouth because you guys did mention 'templates and designs will change'.
I'll just provide personal input here. For one thing, i think it would be good if the main page had the 'sections' directory stay on the left side as it currently is. This makes it easy to jump between sections quick without all the back clicking. Anyone who wants something in 'full page' mode can just right-click on the link and hit 'open in new window'. (i do this all the time anyway, its not like its hard.)
The second thing that seems to bug me is the colors. The 'blueish' scheme feels more 'chemicalish' and would fit something like a DXM or LSD site. The current color scheme feels much more natural, and -warm-. It feels more welcoming. (dont get me wrong here, blue is one of my favourite colors. But it just doesnt fit a shroom site... [[ironicaly]] )
Now about that logo. First of all, its cool. Very nicely done, once again sharp, crisp, and good detail. And totaly the wrong idea. I feel like i'm visiting a circus or a casino in las vegas. Or more likely, watching a YTV commercial. Here, gotto YTV.com (youth tv, shown in canada) and look at their theme. They have 'weird, gooey, fucked up creatures, witch are usualy green with a mix of purple sumwhere on them, or on the background.' Basicaly, it reminds me of watching a childrens channel. Especialy that splat thing. Fuck! The green background with faded thick lines thru it! graah! thats PURE ytv. O_x
All the rest is great. I like the features and such. Didn't experience any tech problems. =]
[i just read this post and damn, i sound a bit harsh. But i'm just trying to be honest, so plz dont kill me.] =]
Keep up the hard work.

i like the colors, the ones you use NOW is hard on the eyes when shrooming :-) but the general look of the new one seems a bit ummmm sterile? it has no personality. But this is just my humble opinion. I didnt have any glitches per say, but i went thru MANY of the links, anf you have quite a few dead ones. I'll check out more features when i have more time.
All in all what ive seen so far, i give it 6 out of 10

I was unable to post a comment regarding this document: http://www.shroomery.org/dbtest/test/par/3169 (The Shroomery: An Introduction).
So I'll post it here:
"Looking for a fast, cheap and easy method of growing 20 kilos of super-shrooms overnight? Yeah, so are we. If you'd care to join us, add your knowledge to our own, we all stand a little better chance of getting there."
It might be a good idea to have a lawyer go over this document considering the fact that the unfortunate WO(s)D is still in full effect. The above is, I think, the most blatent example of an unnecessary liability that could endanger this site that we all love so much.
Otherwise, I like it a lot and I wish that it could stay how it is.

I wish you all ceaselessly flowing moments of happiness.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I really appreciate you taking the time to check out the script. I would like to clear one thing up, though. It seems like the majority of comments are focusing on the appearance of the page, which made me realize that I didn't do a good job explaining the template functionality of the script. Basically, support for templates means the appearance of the page can easily be changed at any time. Once the beta test is complete and the final script is in place, support for user-submitted templates is planned. That means that you'll be able to pick from a library of premade templates, or make and upload your own. As an example of this functionality, check out the script running with a classic template.
Don't get me wrong - I really do appreciate the comments on the layout. I have to make a default template and they'll have a major impact on its appearance. I can use all the feedback I can get so that it turns out well. Just keep in mind, if you don't like it, you'll be able to pick something else.

Thank you psyphon for finding the first bug! The problem occured when someone tried to post a comment without having a BB cookie set. This has been fixed.
As far as your actual comment goes, I strongly agree. I'll update the wording of the document.
Peace,

Well the previous errors seem to be gone, but after replying to a post, the screen that usually has the Return to forum | View you post links only show the top navigation links, and the rest of the page is blank. A couple other people mentioned the same thing.

I do not see the use of the thing honestly... Is it for your convenience of filing your info? Cause if not , I wouldnt hold on to it. As a frequent Shroomery.faq user I need 4-5 clicks to get to the info I need. Additionally the old faq has got a lot better search system.

On a longer term, the plan is to incorporate the FAQ in the new site management system.
Jazz, what in detail do you suggest as an improve for the search?

ok, here's my 2 cents worth. I dig the colors you have chosen. The windows on the entrance page could use some graphics to help distinguish each story or feature from the one next to it, so they don't all look the same. Over all the design is clean and efficient and should be easy for even the newest person to figure out. I hope that this helps.
