Thermostat

ok when i incubate my jars im gonna have a T.I.T. set up and i was gonna have a thermostat in the top tub and have it hooked to my fish tank heater so that when it gt to about 82 in the top tub the heater would shut off and then kick back on as needed... my question is does anyone know where i can get a theremostat like i need for a good price i looked on ebay but they were all in the 40-65 dollar range... can anyone help?

the thrift stores around where i live i dont think would have anything like this ..at least i have never seen them...anyone else?

You can get a 'line voltage thermostat' which is what is required from places such as Lowes or Home Depot for $20.

why not just set the fishtank heater so it maintains the heat at 86F?

i could do that but then that would only tell me the temp of the water and not the temp of the top tub where the jars are and thats what im shooting for

dude...just set a thermometer in the top tub

set your fish tank heater to x

then see what x makes the top tub....

change fish tank heater accordingly

most fish tank heaters have automatic shut offs...just find the point at which your fish tank heater heats up your top tub to like 80-82 degrees...just test the settings...no need for all that thermostat mumbojumbo
