I finally have a decent resumé.
    #6202745 -

I toyed around with one a few years ago, hoping to find something worth wile in the computer field...this manual labor isn't really for me.  Though I enjoy doing work, I'm more of a computer oriented person and my main goal is to design logos for people/companies.  I used Monster.com to build it and I haven't really touched it until class tonight.  We needed to submit a small resume for homework so I cracked out my old one and revised it.

I didn't realize how many things you can turn into separate skills.  Each computer skill I consider normal, or common knowledge is actually it's own category, ex: (Troubleshooting, hardware installation, Microsoft Office...)  I always generalized them as "Computer Skills"  My skill list looks much more impressive now and I'm confident that I now have a better shot at landing a more decent-paying job in the computer field.  Computers are my passion  it hurts to be stuck working the produce dept. at a grocery store when I know I have the skills to be doing better and making more money.

Can you share some of your resume stories, so I have an idea of how to advertise it and what they look for?  My goal is Graphic Design, but I have a broad knowledge of the in's and out's of computers.

I've worked and reworked my resume to a point where I'm very happy with it, and bought myself some good stock of paper to print it on as well. I've developed a knack for bullshitting prior job responsibilities to make them sound much more important than they were.

The fancy stock paper is key when handing out hard-copies of your resume. Get the stuff that is slightly yellow. I went to a career fair a few weeks ago that had recruiters from large tech. companies in the vicinity, and some guys handed in their resumes all together at the MedRad booth, and the recruiter goes, "Nice paper, that's smart" or some shit.

Also, I noticed that many of the companies would rather you submit your resume online.

Even if you submit it online, you should have nice paper to print your resume on and bring in with you to your interview.
