I might be interested in that tasty looking peruvian torch.
I will give it a good home & not just cut it up and eat it.
I woulnd't mind one of those peyotes either.

What sort of prices are we looking at here, and where abouts in the uk are you?

Nice plants.

I don't know much about lophs, but I think that soil looks like it has too much organic material in it.  You probably know what you're doing though.

why are those pedros so thin at the bottom?

looks like the tip is pulling out all the energy to grow, and its not getting replenished

The organic material has made its way to the top so looks like too much, but I think its fine. It is a cacti mix with a little extra calcium.

"why are those Pedro’s so thin at the bottom?

Under watered to prevent thin growth.. I dont have the right lighting I used to hence they have to go. Could also benefit from some new soil or feed but really need some good light for that. Used to have south facing window and also tried some lamps.

Once I can provide the right conditions again I will be starting up an new collection.

** PM any interest thanks **

"looks like the tip is pulling out all the energy to grow, and its not getting replenished"

Does it really work that way? I thought if there was a lack of energy, it would just etoliate (sp?)? It's certainly rare to see such healthy looking tips when conditions are lacking. But yes, I see what you're speaking of. It looks even maybe like the bottoms are sagging from moisture? The loph soil looks like maybe it holds a lot of moisture? What's it made up of?

I really like all the cacti. Beautiful colors. Are the tall ones the san pedro? They have great color for pedro, and long spines. If they are, they're surely seed grown as opposed to the standard backeberg clone. (which would make sense, as it is in the UK).

edit: Sorry, I don't read quite enough.

"It is a cacti mix with a little extra calcium."
That's nowhere near well-draining enough for lophs. Unless the soil is bone dry (if you still have these with you) I'd recommend taking them out right away. The cactus soil stores sell isn't usually well-draining enough for triches, much less so for lophs. You want a ton of pumice/sand/whatever.

You're not like the others. You like the same things I do. Wax paper, boiled football leather... dog breath. We're not hitch-hiking anymore, we're riding!
