Everything I read mentions that he was forbes magazine's 7th richest man in 1989, but I can't find a copy of the article anywhere. I'm wondering how the magazine spoke of him. Did it say he was wealthy from cocaine?

Many people never take the trouble to learn how to surf the web, use reply :wink: or use a search-engine.

Just a onetime half an hour investment of thinking/learning about using google will save you hours upon hours of frustrating searches a year.
