the only reason you make that claim is because you're a vegan/vegetarian, sorry
bro, meat is in fact good for you and there are many nutrients we cant get from
fruits and veggies

I know I mean as soon as someone turns vegetarian they get skinny, pale, and every time they eat meat they get sick.

If I wanted that to happen I'd stay a carnivore and just take up meth.

wax is more typical, of course some vegan came up with the shellacing thing, I've never once heard of an orchardist or processor using such an expensive

read up on aflatoxin, it's not actualy a mold, it's produced by a mold galled asperiligus, and it's found in most everything, including those precious soybeans, BTW, are you aware that soy products are directly linked to prostate cancer?

I had a vegitarian friend that snatched a piece of partialy cooked bacon, he got
sick, he also started eating meat again

is there any food these days that is even relatively "safe", much less healthy? I think our bodies are so poisoned from a little more than 50 years of microwave dinners and deep-frying that we have irreversibly changed the genetics of future generations ... every food seems to induce some sort of cancer, allergy or mental disorder, according to every study these days ...

so it's funny we even have a supposed FDA ... makes you wonder what the qualifications are to work for them? (swindler, morally corrupt, manipulative, hard-headed and uncaring--my best guesses)

the bottom line I live by these days when eating is: if you even SEE a list of ingredients, or more than one listed, you're already on the wrong track ...

I've tried to maintain a 5 ingredients or less policy for the foods I eat, I read
the package of bacon and it listed water, salt ansd sodium benzonate, while it
did meet my 5 or less criteria, it didnt list the important stuff like bacon, pork
pig ass or meat... I still ate the bacon

to prisoner:: about the bugs. I have a certain form of them. The bugs that give shellac are a type of bug called "scale" I have these scale on my habiscus plant but not the exact type that gives shellac just a cousin. look up scale bug

also go to the supermarket and find a bag of apples. i promise it will say coated with food grade shellac on there.

I wasn't saying that the mold was actually aflatoxin i was saying that the mold contained aflatoxin, which the mold is asperiligus which i already researched and knew about. this is coming from my first post in this thread that i typed "Aflatoxin is in mold that grows on the penuts which causes cancer"

didn't know about the prostate cancer thing i will look into that thank you

any more cirtisizm is nice it helps me learn =)

I'm a farmer and I'm quite familliar with scale, I also learned about shellac
because I do a lot of woodwork, most all of the produce I've seen coated was
with wax

simply enough know your farm know your food, kill your meat.  Stop supporting industrialized foods.    Support your local farmers.  Promote permaculture in your town.  Get people educated and informed about what and how they eat.  grow your own food...

Most communities have community based farms, where you join and pay a membership, they then give you allotments of vegetables and fruits each season.  yep yep thats my  :2cents:

damn yea i have seen that list of foods affected by that mold. I just brought penut butter up cus i heard it gets it the worst

guess the only real healthy thing out there is fresh organic fruits and green vegetables.

I believe in healthy fruits and vegetables, not "certified" organic. But just good and natural. Government standards of what organic is is a falsity. They make you think it's pure. But they allow "x" amount of pesticides and chemicals. Which makes it far from "organic"

The organic market is going to boom in the next ten years, but the investment people make supporting these organic foods will fall short in the long run, because the only one walking away with anything is the company that produced it.

that's awesome to hear -- you're one of the few people who don't choose to remain ignorant as to the fact that 'you are what you eat' ...

i've found an organic turkey bacons I buy only contain salt and celery juice ... finally a bacon without preservatives!  it also is much less greasy and more like a real, fine meat than regular bacon ...  :thumbup: :heart:
