Good for a heat/humidity source? Not much info that I could find on this, some people seem to have some success with these, just wanted a definitive answer. And any tips from you non noobs. Thanks in advance

well an aquarium heater wouldnt really be ideal for your terrarium...they are used in incubators .to keep your jars warm without using a dry heat (heater, or heating pad)...What is the normal temp in the area that you will be birthing your cakes...your are going to want about 76 degrees F...if its colder then that then you might want to add that to your terrarium....for humidity just use perlite...check out the shroomery faq and all your questions shall be answered

submersible aquarium heaters..... are great for incubators. regular aquarium heaters.... put into a pear shaped fruit juice container is good for heating up your fruiting chamber if its too cold. I have never used a heater to increase humidity. I'll let someone else answer that one. Good luck!

the only idea that i have seen (but not tried) that would do both at one time would be some kind of light bulb in water (yes, sounds like trouble) and it is only supposed to raise humidity a little, and i imagine it would also raise the heat. I would go with perlite for humidity and then a heating device on its own.... or setting your terr. on top of your incubator. I think the light bulb deal was in MMGG but it may not be, havent read it over in a while

Aquarium heaters are perfect in a glass container in your terarrium to regulate heat. It beats out many other devices as the temp is controllable. Sure, room temp is fine for fruiting, but what if your room temp is 40? An aquarium heater is perfect. For humidity, use the same water container the heater is in and run a fishtank air pump through. Cant beat it for humidity
