Where can I find a fully submersible water heater???!?! all the ones at petmart and walmart have water level on it..making it not "fully" submersible...this is frustrating me as I have all my supplys minus this..GRRRROWL.

i worked at petsmart for years jusr quit. look for neptune i use one of those. and there are other kinds i belive it was topfine who can out with full sub ones right befor i quit.

ps neptune some in a green box topfine is a blue cardboard with a clear plastic from in witch the heater is in.

any petstore should have fully submersible water heaters

they all should, it looks like a dildo with a dial on the end

No problem there. That is the minimum water level for safe operation. If you don't submerge them all the way they will overheat and burn out. I have a walmart $10 heater 6" underwater working great!

Oh yeah, that walmart heater maxes out at 80 degrees. Just FYI. I would go for the adjustable ones. Of course, they are cheaper on ebay. Like 50% cheaper.

Almost every heater with suction cups are submersible. Ones that hang on the sides(you can see the hanging mechanism) are not submersible.

mmmmmmm can someone confirm Terillius' last post?

There IS a difference between submersible heaters and "fully" submersible heaters right????

From looking at the pictures on the backs of them, they show the heater being dunked in the water with the thing at the end OUT of the water.

I can't. you can open the box and check for hanging aparatus. Suction cups only=fully submersible. Hanging things for hanging over the side=questionable.
