He's coming to my town playing the venue at the Sierra Nevada brewery. I think tickets are already sold out, I don't know how I missed hearing about this.

Bob Weir/Ratdog will never be able to replicate the Dead experience.
Time to move on.  Us youngsters missed the boat.

Ratdog isnt trying to recreate the Grateful Dead experience. Yes, they play Grateful Dead songs but they have they're own style and that band fucking rocks.

Sure we may have missed the Grateful Dead. But their music lives on in the forms of Ratdog, Phil Lesh and Friends, and Dark Star Orchestra and all of these bands give tight, energetic and FUN shows that are definitely more consistent than the Grateful Dead were.

Also they're collaborating with other bands and musicians which make a dream come true for jam band fans.. such as Phil Lesh and friends touring with Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon. And Ratdog's tour with String Cheese Incident.

I saw and heard both of those monumental moments in music and it was good. It was very good.

Yea, I heard about the rhythm devils project, and I am really intrigued.
Kimock!! Gordo!! Bill and Mickey! fuckin A

I've only heard ratdog on tape, and honestly, wasn't overwhelmingly impressed with it.  And I've known peers of mine to attend ratdog because of what a certain band member was a part of in the past.  Thats all i'm sayin.
Each his own.

Now, if only the rhythm devils would come up to OR/WA.
I Doubt it.  We usually get the shaft.

What are you talking about, no other big bands? Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder are coming for TWO BIG NIGHTS! Not to mention Sophie B Hawkins, Fruit, and the Jerry Douglas Band.
