Bob Weir, Ratdog + 35 grams = blown away
    #1535470 - 05/09/03 08:00 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

Last night i saw Ratedog play at the historic Cain's ballroom in Tulsa Oklahoma. Cain's is an old low-ceiling ballroom with wood floors that bounce as people get to jumping in rhythm. right before going in I ate 35 grams of fresh cambodians and met up with a crew of 50-65 yrs. old dead heads in the lot to smoke. i can't say that i remember or even noticed the come on, just all of a sudden i was in front, 5 feet from Bobby. Everybody around me was dancing thier asses off, but i just stood there at the very front rubbin my hands through my beard. i was sweating balls and my hair was flailing everywhere. I SWEAR that bobby was looking right at me. They played such an awesome show. MY favorites were scarlet begoinas at the end of the second set and then St. Stephen/The Eleven in the second. I am sure everyone knew i was frying because of how i looked and behaved. I think bobby probably was looking at me since i was so close to him and he was aware of the level i was on. Seeing them play live just brings you to a knew level. their is nothing like it on God's green earth. Funny thing is, if anyone has seen the news youve read about the tornados that went through Oklahoma City....we drove right threw them to get to the show. we weren't aware of it when we left but the funnel clouds around us clued us in. The charge in the air only made it more appropriate to see Bobby on such a night!

Sounds like a good time! I've seen Ratdog like 3 or 4 times and they were all excellent shows. It's especially fun seeing them in a smaller venue. I would guess the Cain's Ballroom is a smaller venue. They came to my town last november and I danced my ass off. Good times.

they played one extended set last time I saw them that blew me away:

Jam > Feel Like a Stranger > Baby Blue > Easy Answers, Youngblood, Walkin Blues > Loser, Big Boss Man > Eyes of the World > Scarlet Begonias > GDTRFB > Bass/Drums > Space > Help on the Way > Slipknot! > Ashes and Glass > Slipknot! > Franklin's Tower*

That has got to be an incredible feeling.
