Hrm! I know that the heater won't go past 76F otherwise it will kill the fishies! You have to take off the plastic knob and turn the metal round all the way around and then put the plastic knob back on. Fiddle with it until it starts going above 76. Also put some tin foil around the top to keep water from evaporating.
