A word of caution when ordering spores...

Just to let those who aren't aware know... here are some good tips when doing business over the internet: 1. Do NOT send anyone a blank money oder! They get away clean. 2. Do NOT e-mail someone your credit card information! Use paypal. 3. Do NOT send a large sum of cash in an envelope, thats just dumb! 4. Go through a reputable spore vendor. Ask around to see who is reliable. 5. At least do a sarch on the vendor you are planning on purchasing from, see if there is any bad press on the forum or the internet. I love the hobby, and I don't like to see people that are new to this get ripped off. Hopefully this will help!

actually many respectable people do business with blank money orders, it just protects the privacy.... while it is risky it is by no means a sure fire way to tell if someone is scamming you.

Yes, some of the oldest and most reputable vendors require blank money orders. I also know many people send cash thourgh the mail and in my several years of experience, it seems pretty safe. Just wrap it well and don't send like a thick wad of 100 $1's!

I would totaly advoid PayPal as well. Murple started a thread here about someone being questioned by Pay Pal in regaurds to some purchases. They came out and asked what the person had bought, and stated that they were basicly watching him.. Stay away from Pay Pal. Stick to M.O's or cash.

I think you'll find that if Paypal is watching someone, it is because they are getting complaints from people that their goods/services were not recieved... not because of what they are selling!

The ONLY time Paypal ever gets involved with business transactions is when Credit Card fraud is an issue. They are so big they don't have time to be a law enforcement agency. -Boxtop
