Someone should have told him "Hey, skip, reality is going to expose all unsubstantiated beliefs and notions for what they really are - false, so you might want to be a little more considerate about what groundless bullshit you are going to adopt and subsequently act upon.".

I nominate him for a Darwin award. :smirk:

you have to wonder if the "eyewitnesses" should be charged with some crime for allowing this to happen.
I wonder how long people waited around until they finally called the police/ambulance.
Who was the first person to finally say "well.... guess he didn't have enough faith....".

Maybe they even come up with the "he died for our sins earlier then expected" sort of thing  :crazy2:

Surely someone with a Gnostic Christian persuasion might have suggested to him the nature of midrash, and of metaphor - the turbulance of the Ocean of Existence, transcending the turbulance with faith which is a contemplative attitude, not allowing oneself to sink into existence, but to rise above life's trials and tribulations, etc. Stupid Literalist - all ego.

Yeah, if only he could have succeeded.  Oh the glory he would have revelled in when the world saw how supreme HIS faith was and how pious a dude HE was.  What a jerk.  Reminds me of when I went to a "Christian retreat" in 9th grade with my best friend because we had some friends (and a few girls we were sweet on) in the church.  One night, when the boistrous preacher became especially dogmatic, people started falling to their knees spouting meaningless gibberish and random noises and vocalizations.  I had heard earlier in the day that sometimes when things got intense in the congregation, people starting speaking in tongues.  Oh how full these pious souls were of the Holy Spirit  Again, brazen literalism precludes contemplation.  Surely some of these believers had a hint of understanding that speaking in tongues might have actually referred to something socially functional, maybe speaking to different people in different ways, according to their background or understanding.  Or perhaps there is a deeper metaphor.  But who has time to contemplate that when you've got to seize every opportunity to shine a spotlight on your righteousness?

Yes, but at the point at which one can move mountains, one Realizes that one is He Who put the mountain there in the first place. So the mountain remains where it is.

Just because you can change the "reality in your head" doesn't mean you can change things like being completely heavier than water in actual reality.

What you just said is pure, unbased speculation and have no bearing on anything in real life.
