I saw it today...
kind of a weird flick. It didn't seem to have a beginning, or an ending from my point of view. I was uneasy through the entire flick, I don't know why. It was just creepy. Cool movie, but I think I was expecting more. The suits got kind of annoying after a while, although I think the idea was spectacular and just put together cheaply. The animation was spectacular in some parts and seemed cheesy and rushed in others.

What you need to do is buy your tickets, then go in your car and smoke until you are super stoned, then go see it. It is very trippy while you are really stoned.

I was delighted to see Alex Jones appear in this movie, even if it was only for a short minute. Anyone who's seen the Waking Life will know what i mean.

I was stoned for the movie, maybe thats why I was uneasy. Substance D sounds a lot like Meth, with some unusual side effects.

i loved that movie, i think that most people could learn something about the war on drugs from that. Id imagine the animation would look awesome on shrooms, i had to drive almost an hour away to find a theater that was actually playing it, and during a quite part in the movie someone cracked a huge fart everyone started cracking up. I relly think it could have been a great movie this year if they only released it to more theaters and advertiesed more.

Sounds like the way I felt the first time I read Naked Lunch...

I liked it (only saw the cam version, still waiting for it to come out in Europe), very faithful to the book, but a bit messy plot-wise.
Did it make any sense to people who haven't read the book? Because I had the feeling at times that without knowing the story backwards (A Scanner Darkly happens to be my favorite book by PKD) the movie would have made no sense at all to me.

i think i got it yeh. that being that the war on drugs is a farce and those who condem drugs most are likely to profit most yeh.. i dunno. hehe i liked the albino shapeshifting reptillian reference.. err anyway yea also demonstrates paranoic behaviour and such and uh craziness, idiocy, i like it.
