At 50 threads per page, there is 857 pages of threads in the pub.

That's Forty Two Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty threads about Lava Lamps, Patchouli, The Greatful Dead and Shane the Puppy!

OTD with it's 45 day inactive thread expiary system, has 53 pages for 2650 threads.

Maybe it's time the pub had a similar purging mechinism to OTD?

i like being able to go back and read some of the old threads in the pub. like this one for instance... it would be a shame to lose this old gem

Easily one of the best threads I've read. I wouldn't compare PUB threads to OTD threads.

I like it the way it is.

dude pub threads are the same as otd threads just people watch what they say in there more. you know how much i used to love reading the old posts from otd. but they still decided to delete em i say the pub should get the same treatment as otd

Good point.. the only old posts that I care about are in the "Mushrooms, Mycology and Psychedelics" section anyways. It makes sense to save those so people can go back and find answers to something..

Why would you git rid of those posts? They can't take up that much space. I say save em'. If you run out of server space or something that is the only reason to be considering deleting threads.

Well, apparently we save threads in The Pub due to the sense of community that results, but yet, quite apparently, there is a sense of community in OTD among those who post there. Perhaps they would like to search back and find this specific thread and bask in the memories?

I guess I fail to see the difference between The Pub and OTD as far as the thread expiration issue goes, but perhaps this is because I do not actively participate in either forum and am not attached to what transpires in either forum. I say save them all or delete them all, but don't favor one simply because you personally don't care for what is discussed in the other. :shrug:

It has already been expressed in this thread that people love to read old Pub threads, and that people love to read old OTD threads. I personally remember a time when I was in Norway. Out of the blue, I ventured into OTD and had the fun of exchanging insults with others, and etc., and I think I mentioned something about playing bass guitar, and then blackroselove noticed that and ended up pm'ing me, then we began talking on MSN, then phone calls, and now we've lived together for the past two years +.

You know what? That thread is probably long gone, and I think it sort of blows that I can't go back and find it. Perhaps I should have had the foresight to save it then, but hey, how the fuck was I to know? :lol:

So yes, reinstate the saving of OTD threads or burn those junk ass Pub posts in flames. :smirk:

maybe if it is decided to implement the expiration of threads in the pub, us pubbers could round up the ones we would like to keep such as the one i mentioned above and off the top of my head this one as well

Did you know you never psoted in OTD Fireworks_god?
If you did post in OTD , it's long gone.
All Ethno, Cult, Pub, Spirit, ODD, and Health threads should be kept FOREVER.
I think OTD should have a backlog longer than 30 days too, but that's just me :flow:

I know I have not made sixty-four posts in Mysticism, as well, but what happened is that certain threads were moved into that forum when we split. :lol:

It does note that one post was done in "All Other Forums", perhaps that was OTD. :smirk:

In forums where thread expiration takes place, there is an option to "Keep" the thread. Which makes it immune from expiration.
If there is a thread worth saving, ask a mod.
