I just passed my driving test!!

WOOHOOO!! Fourth time i've taken it and ive done it at last!

Im normally fairly confident on tests but today i had a bad feeling, i was convinced i'd failed before i even got into the car and when i fucked up my first manouevre i was sure it was all over... and even though the rest of the test was a bit of a catastrophe i had a cool examiner and he let me off with a few things so i just scraped by :smile:

Thank fuck for that! No more shitty £17 an hour lessons for me, i'm off to get wasted on Jack Daniels and go for a ride!!

my licence was suspeded before i could get it and back it back sense that was when i was 18 now im 24

Hate to throw a wrench in your gear...If it took 4 times to achieve driving status and you like the freedom of driving legally you'd be better off pulling over and letting "Jack" walk! :wink:

I didn't get my drivers license until I was 18. Even then, they had to drag me kicking and screaming all the way. It took me two tries to pass the driving part, but where I lived, the unwritten policy was to automatically fail everybody on their first try.

What maneuvers did you have to pull? Our test was fairly easy...show em you know how to work the signals, hazards, all that, drive around a few blocks downtown, maintaining the speed limit, signalling, and pull straight into where you pulled out of. I passed it the first time and don't know anyone that failed the driving portion...

There was a terrible, terrible, 1980s software program that you had to take before the driving portion. I failed it three times because the graphics on diagrams were so horrible. It would give a top view of say...a van, a truck, and a car. Mind you, these are 1980s graphics, so they all looked the fucking same from overhead. To make it worse, if you finally figured out that the van was the blue one, it would switch up colors on the next question. Fucking imbecile designer. Everyone I know failed it at least once.

I waited till I was 19 to take the test (16 is min. age). I really didn't care about being able to drive but on the plus side I didn't have to pay to get a drivers permit (over 18 doesn't need a permit here)

I live on a mountain, within walking distance of nothing, so I had to get my liscence at 16 to have any kind of freedom.

I got it my first try.

Took mine when I was 15 and passed it easily, but they did grouped me with this 23 yr old idiot who couldn't drive for shit.

Congrats man, 4 attempts you must of had a shit load of lessons.
17's quite cheap though, mine are costing me 21 pound each.
I'm booked in for my test in 3 weeks time.

You want to be smart with your license, it's cost you over a grand so drink driving ain't a good idea.
You'll lost it quick that way and you might even kill somebody too !

Erm, not sure how old you think i am but i left school a long time ago mate...

a lot of you seem to have passed your tests first time, im not sure what the tests are like over there but over here the examiners are VERY strict, most people here need at least 2 or 3 attempts to get theirs and i dont know anybody who got theirs first time...

But anyway, WOOHOO!

Your not alone, 4th attempt on the 8th. I'm not a bad driver, I'm just an ass sometimes.

1st attempt - Pulled out at junction without looking left.

2nd - Driving too fast through puddle, pulling out at a blind junction while 4x4 coming (really is a blind corner), driving left hand lane down duel carriageway. - Really fucked up that test, bad start to finish, so i don't care.

3rd - Attempting to overtake on a country lane, stupid ass thing to do, in normal circumstance i wouldn't have even thought about attempting it. I was so focused on passing all logic went out the window
