I don't see how it's fucked up. It's not uncommon for artists to work from a skeletal structure... although stereometrics are a hell of a lot more common than a literal skeleton.

That is really really cool. The artist is not actually putting outfit-s- on her, he is going through each layer of her. Bones, skin, underwear, clothing.

I thought that was awesome. And as someone before said.. working from a skeletal structure is used often when doing concept art or character design. (Digital and traditional)

Look at some of Da Vinci's drawings. He used the same technique.
