For instance, would it be wrong to prostitute yourself in order to buy food for a starving person?

I don't think a prostitute is a good example. But no, if you choose to destroy yourself to help out somebody else , why should it matter.

Not sure I 100% get what your saying.

What does it matter the end reason for self destruction? Be it for personal gain, pleasure, fun, money, desire, or a selfless agenda.

Is self destructive behavior wrong?

I say no. Its your own choice, you have free will. How you use it is for you and only you to decide upon.

Good point, but if you choose with your free will to dishonor yourself, would the end result be better or worse, because of your intent in helping another? I think it would be a little better, but ultimately you helped others fall weak to their temptations, possibly cheat on a significant other, and possibly cause another's sickness to relapse. So, I am torn as to if this is a good thing, in the end.

Defacing yourself isn't a good thing in most situations no matter how worthy the cause. Hurting yourself usually hurts others that know you. So ask yourself if the gain is worth the cost. Is the juice worth the squeeze? Honorable or not be prepared for the consequences.

For me it would all depend on the circumstances of the situation.. if the person was someone that I really cared for a lot, I might take a bullet for them or something similar. I don't know where you came up with the prostitution thing... never been around that shit nor do I ever plan to. I'd steal food before I sold my body to get it. :lol:

I don't know if it is or not.
I'm in a similar more realistic situation right now.

I care for this girl alot who's having another bout of depression.
She's treating me like shit for no reason, but i'm still sticking around trying to help because i know she's depressed.

It's hard sometimes and it's getting to me alot.
Is it ok for me to put myself through alot of shit to try and help ?

I don't think it's fair on me, but if she turns round and ends up ok i think it's all worth it !
