All that I can say is that the dialogue in that movie really tickled me...the writing is excellant.

EDIT: What kind of drugs was this guy on.  LSD I bet, but a site said he was addicted to something but didn't say what.

It is something called "Substance D" in the book/movie. It seems like it's supposed to be some kind of psychedelic amphetamine, but they talk about other drugs in the book too, like Heroin, pot and acid.
The book is basically about paranoia, though. If the movie is half as good as the book it will still be the best thing out this summer. I think I'm gonna trip when I see it the first time, too.

Yeah I'm gonna see this in a few days. I'm a big fan of Philip K. Dick, I think he's the writer I resemble most myself.

I was reading the trivia on this movie and I found out that my favorite director, Terry Gilliam, wanted to make it in the early 90s but couldn't. Then my favorite screenwriter, Charlie Kaufman, wrote an early draft of the script which wasn't used. Bah, I hope I can concentrate on the movie now and not be too disappointed knowing that.

damn shit/ i wanna see that movie on doses but noooo i dont have any. and i wanna see it on shrooms but nooo i dont wanna feel like pukein on my lap and shit wet on my boxers...
plus i gave up being a pot head for drung screening. so looks like ima have to see it sober till it comes out on dvd and i can watch it on dvd in my bathroom off 5 grams shitin and pukein in the tub lol

I went and saw it on the release date and it was AMAZING!!! I had been waiting forever for this to come out. I think everyone should see it.
I didn't get to watch it while tripping for the first time but, I can't wait till I do this weekend when I can get a DD.

May be a while on finding a good quality version. Don't ruin the experience on a shitty cam for sure. These type of movies usually don't get good screeners till months and months after they have been released.

I'm all about pirating movies but, I always give back to the Indies and great films that deserve to make money but, don't because they don't appeal to the masses. Don't get me wrong I will still download this movie if a good release is out there but, I paid to see it already and will also purchase the dvd when released.

Support your indie artist in general I say

ya I agree...my general rule of thumb is if I d/l and I can tell that the author(wheather its a movie/music or pc software/games) really put in a lot of effort and deserves it I will pay

I also have pirated satellite...but unfortunately the ppv's are down right now :frown:...I haven't had my (I think)10 pr0n channels for a while now :P

I won't pay for tv unless I have too(still loaded with advertisements) plus I Think some piracy can be good cause it creates buzz and popularity...just look at unreal tournament...it had no serial # yet not only did it sell really well but it created a huge money making series...I think the same is true to a certain extent for the original playstation

I also think piracy was actually good for directv...I rarely hear anyone talk about it anymore(I wonder if their #'s went down) but then again I am in canada and we don't have it available legally here

piracy is so out in the open here in canada...not only are there many stores that deal in pirated satellite only but there are 2 stores within an hour from my house which sell copied games and movies for $5 a piece and they are in full view on display when u walk in the store

theres probably a lot more that I just don't know about too

wow! It use to be like that in New York until recently they have been cracking down on physical pirates hardcore. I'm sure it was like that in other parts of the country too but, I mostly heard of it happening at street vendors in NY.

I agree that piracy can be a good thing. It can help hard to get things become popular and, as direct result make it more available. Most movies and music out these days aren't worth what you pay for them. I'm only talking of my Indie artist. I'm just saying if you download a fairly unknown band, or movie, and you like what they have created then go out and purchase their product, or go see them play live. Make sure the real artist out there make enough money to continue to create the things we love. I could care less about a giant corporate movie's losing money. Hell most don't deserve a dime. Maybe if they start making better movies people will return to theaters.

I haven't seen a movie worth paying 10 bucks for in a while. Scanner Darkly is the exception. Oh also another great movie that may or may not still be playing in theaters is The Brick. It will be out on DVD pretty soon. Great flick pick it up.

Oh and walrus I know you said you go pick it up if you like it. I'm just ranting lol

I'm dying to see this movie, its only out at one theatre in the city, so that may be my friday night plans...

If your asking what the author was on, I'd imagine lsd, he was Leary's roommate for awhile.
