Maybe I should create a book?
    #5823037 - 07/05/06 10:30 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

So, I was just sitting here avoiding my work, and I got the urge to open up a text edit document and just let stuff fall out of my head... I'm thinking the result might be another method for myself to free myself... Here's what came out:

--
So, I've been thinking of creating a book lately... The feeling seems to continue to grow... exponentially, I might add. The spiritual feelings inside me are also growing in the same bizzare manner. I can only be lead to believe that these two need to be intermixed in some way... now, I'm not a very wordy person, but rather crafty... so I have to wonder if I'm meant to use my skills as a knitter and crocheter to bleed into the world spiritually. Hmm... leaves to ponder...

The designs I've been doing seem to me to be rather empty. I'm feeling myself drift toward more meaningful designs. The emptiness once consumed me to the snapping point from where I've since recovered myself. The wanting inside me to create meaning swarms around in an uncontrollable, unmistakable manner, that I must submit...
--

That sounds like someone new speaking to me from inside me. It's not worded in the way I usually think... Maybe I should make a book of personally spiritually refresshing knit/crochet patterns?

I have the feeling that the process of creating it will be really rewarding to my soul, even if it takes years to complete it.

That was wonderful
I often think a similar thing, as I weave metal into chainmail.
The urge to write, to carry on on word for others to hear.
Your voice, your sound of choice, is strong when you listen to yourself.

I would love for the patterns I create to bring the creators to the same spiritual level I experience while creating them...  I think that alone could be my inspiriation. Firstly because I will be experiencing life more freely in my spiritual expression through the yarn, secondly because I can pass that experience on to the masses.

Flowie, it's nice that someone is able to relate to my yarn obsession through a similar craft...

Yup, that's me. It truely was a melting experience.
That weekend totally changed my life, I'll never forget it.

I feel as though this new motivation to express myself is due to the beautiful experiences I had over that physically short amount of time, which lasted for eternity.

First off, your avatar is way too seductive.
I could hardly focus on your written word,
when the spoken word of your beauty,
resounds from the chapel like one thousand bells.
I just might be in love with you,
I just might not even know you.
Now that we have a start, you must transpire,
you're spoken grace, into poems for our sake.
Write write write write. It will always be right.

That's certainly a step in the right direction.

Part of my newly renewed spirituality is getting to know, and loving more people. Concentration on Love may be the way to go? Or maybe concentration should be avoided altogether and I should just do what feels right. Love feels right... not in the cliché sense of the word, but in what my own mind considers as Love.

Get stoned. Then jot down some of the things you are thinking...seems to get my creativity going.

Flowie, your words are very touching.
The feeling of Love without the act of knowing seems to be a reoccurring theme in my life these past few days. I welcome the joy that comes along with it, and embrace all new feelings of Love that come to me. While I don't know you either, I'd like to thank you and shed some Love onto your life as well. :sun:

I know not why I capitalize my L in Love.

Brilliant:sunny:
I'd say we were very similar, and could never be lovers,
but it in this sense, love is not intercourse, it is more brilliant.
It's more exchanging than fluids, to exchange a mind in loves embrace.
You shine like the sun, and even though I'm home you shine bright.

I'll stop my infatuation with you, here.
It's just something about your photo,
your words, the sunlit woods scenario,
that drives me wild inside, what is your sun sign?
You drive me wild
:sun:

You should write what will go in the book first, then create it

For a typical book, yes, but, for the type of book I'm "creating" I feel as though the entire process will be what ends up as the book. Let me explain...

Because I plan on using my yarny experience to do this, I will have to create each knitted or crocheted piece in order to make the patterns and photographs for the book. The creation of each of these pieces will be the "creation" that I speak of... the actual book writing part will come after. I feel as though this book will be more creative than written... The written portions of the books will be in the foreign language known as a knitting or crochet pattern, which can only be read in the process of the creation of the piece, be it mentally or physically.

I think a book is a great idea, or any sort of creative sharing. Perhaps you can teach a class at a local craft school, that could lead to a lot of new experiences. Whatever you decide to do, do it with gusto! Good luck! :peace:
