Thats right, DNKYD, I'm saw the DJ. He did a live set at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for only $10. I was actually quite disappointed though.

A few months ago I saw him live at Ultra and he put on a spectacular performance at the end of the night. Unfortunately his set came to a screeching halt, probably due to an overheated amp.

Due to the amazing performance at Ultra (despite the technical difficulties) I had high expectations of his headlining performance at Revolution. For $10 I expected the show to be sold out, but there was a bleak turnout of a mediocre sized crowd. There was a mix of people that didn't look like they belonged in an electronic music event. If I had been deaf I wouldn't know if I was at a goth, metal, or R&B show based on the appearance of the audience.

He opened the set at 12:45am with "Sexual Healing" which he blended into a house set that made the sparse crowd stir in a lethargic state; mostly uninterested with the material at the begining of the set. There were a few gems mixed in later in the evening that got the crowd going. Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was thrown into the mix as well. Later he played a few of his classics then stepped off stage at 2:30am leaving the crowd dancing to the clubs background music for the rest of the night. Revolution closed at 4:00am, yet BT refused to take the stage for the rest of the night. I left his show disappointed again at the finale of his performance.

BT is a wonderful producer (sometimes), but he's at best a mediocre dj's. Big names are overrated, you'll always get a better show from local dj's or mid level circuit talent.

was he spinning or doing a live PA? I've always thought he did better performing live music then spinning records.

It looked like he was doing live PA and spinning CD's. I didn't keep an eye on him the whole night tho.
