what do you mean by hacking?
cracking copyrighted software? stealing data? taking over servers to send spam? screwing with UBB?
in terms of cracking, i'm all for it - fuck intellectual patents. in terms of screwing with peoples' machines/servers, it annoys the piss out of me.

Yeah, Doing something to someones server to just be an asshole, isn't too cool. But say its the server hosting some hate groups site, I have no problem with it.
Also, I never pay for software, so I'm gonna have to say I'm for the free distribution of cracked software.

Hacking is way too broad of a term. There are so many forms of hacking that it would take pages to cover it all. I'm the most familiar with cracking probably.
I used to do the whole cracking thing, disassembly code, softice, w32dasm, etc. You will know what I'm talking about if you have worked with any of that in the past. It's more to do with hacking trial software so that it can be used with unlimited restrictions. I was pretty good at that. It was fun and challenging.
I'm also skilled at computer programming. With my knowledge of cracking, I am able to write code in such a way that it can not easily be cracked. Spent many years working on security methods for our software.
I have done marketing of my own programs and made several thousands in sales. Of course we had to deal with people trying to crack our programs, so I know how it feels from both a hackers perspective and that of the victim. It sucks to have spent a lot of work on something and have people using it for free.

hacked websites - whatever
my indentity or valuable information stolen - I GOT A PROBLEM (obviously)

Hackers force webmasters to create new methods of security, it's kind of good in a way.
