current state of invitro (hippy/mycro) tek?
    #579663 - 03/15/02 09:27 PM (20 years, 6 months ago)

Hi. I think I'm ready to do my first cultivation. I want to try something that's simple and discrete. The invitro tek seems appropriate. I can't find the full instructions online. Can someone direct me to the instructions, and any new modifications to the tek, and any tips regarding this procedure?

thanks.

grow some jars according to PF or MMGG. then (this is the hard part) you flip the jars over; remove the foil; and expose to light all in the same day! then you have to wait for the mushrooms to grow.
as you can see; this tek has a high level of difficulty. maybe hippie will jump in and elaborate.
im done now.
peace.

Waaaiiit a second.
I I thought you had to grow pf jars like normal, except you expose them to light from the get go.
Which makes them pin faster and they grow invitro.
What tinfoil?

hmm. i guess its just me though. i would wait till its at least mostly colonized or you may have pins forming before 100% colonization. foil goes over the lid to cover the holes. after its colonized you can take that off to allow for better air exchange.

"(this is the hard part) you flip the jars over; remove the foil; and expose to light all in the same day!"

I'll flip those puppies over in an empty 20gallon aquarium and put the flourescent light on.

here are some jars that I colonized, stuck in the closet and left them alone. 30 days later I found this.

If I harvested like 4 grams dry from these jars. I believe they are Ks

because after that I cased them and got this

I have a buddy that gets excellent yields with invitro though. I think he takes some special precautions when setting up to do invitro though. And also only certain species do well invitro.

Invitro is very cruel. Poor little shrooms struggling to break out, but trapped in a living hell.

Free the mushrooms!

That pic sort of reminds me of when your jeans are too tight and you get yourself folded the wrong way - very uncomfortable!

right, like you ever had that problem.
it's utter nonsense to talk about shrooms being 'uncomfortable' since they grew in that position, they were not forced in there afterwards.

Do a search for 'Quart Jar Way Revisited' in google. This is the simplest, most self contained method. The bonus is that once you get ready to start casing you can case the cake right in the jar. This pic is a half gallon jar with a rye berry cake beneath 50/50+ (w/ coco coir). One jar for the whole process...

when you take the cakes out to harvest when you dunk do you put them back in for another invitro harvest or do you only get the one flush

The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride... And we... kill those people.

That is the great thing. The cakes never come out of the jar. You inoculate, incubate, and birth in the same jar. I have had 7 flushes from 1 jar w/ no contamination. Here is a picture of my first Quart Jar w/ no casing. If you case it gives you more fruits. To dunk I just fill the jar with distilled water and put in fridge. Then i drain it the next day by flipping it upside down and keeping the lid loose.
