It's quite possible. Set and setting are important, so if you go into your trip depressed it's likely that will determine the path of the rest of your trip.

It could... I myself have mild depression or something like it (diagnosed but never investigated). Personally in my case I think it just isolates me a little more and makes me less aware of my external environment and more aware of myself mentally (mostly) and physically. But again, if I have it it's considered mild (after only a basic examination mind you) it's mild (supposedly). Personally though if something bugs you normally or makes you feel bad it will do the same with shrooms. Shrooms don't 'make' you feel a certain way, they just change the way you interpret how you feel.

Of course, you could always trip to find out the cause of your depression, but as it's been said it might not be too pleasant.

It's very possible for you to have a bad trip, going into it depressed.
However, if you plan set and setting really well, and just make your setting the most enjoyable and comfortable for you, then the experience could very well bring you out of your depressed state and into a world of goodness!

If you're upset before you trip, you'll probably still be upset while you're tripping.
My policy is to consciously develop a strong positive mindset before going into any intense psychedelic experience.

Its up to you, but IMO be prepared for the worst. I have tripped during a time of depression and it was one of the worst feelings of my life. The trip amplified my depression through the peak, and I basically tried to trip myself out of existense...
However, as bad as that trip was, it helped me find some of the insecurities and anxieties that were causing my depression. On later trips I went in knowing these and was able to work through alot of them.
I would go for it if you are looking to come face to face with yourself, and try to determine what your depression stems from. Hallucinogens can be very good at helping you through psychological problem...but they can also create more problems if your not careful.
If you are going to try it, I suggest you have a strong meditation practice.

i have dosed during a pretty deep depression- it resulted in an "entity" or "guide" coming to me and telling me not to be so hard on myself. it was one of the most comforting things i've ever experienced. however, there were some terrifying and quite uncomfortable moments leading up to it.

I'm bi-polar, and when I'm on the low I'm REALLY low. I've tripped before when in that mode and sometimes the trip brightens me up and takes away the negativity. Other times it sprials me down into a crying mess. I believe it's all about the environment. Whether you're depressed or ecstatic, if you're tripping in the right place it makes the difference.

If you're absolutely miserable at the time you eat the mushrooms, yes, a bad trip might be likely. Unless you become distracted and giddy before they start coming on strong..
"it will absoulutlly affect your trip.......you wont forget the things that are making u depressed while tripping........."
This is certainly a possibility, but don't speak in *absolute* terms when it isn't the case. I've been depressed about various things like jobs, school, whatever that have not even come into my mind during some trips. Sometimes it can help you realize that worrying too much is unhealthy, and that there are more important things in life. But yes, sometimes you will just dwell on these things and be pushed in a negative direction.

if your depression is caused by something that you cant put your finger on, i think shrooming would be the best thing for you to do.
if you were depressed over a tragedy or something, then it would be worse because you would begin to try and solve a problem which cannot be fixed (e.g. a family member in a coma or something, or death of a close family member).
If its related to the fact that you dont know what the hell you are and what you're doing on this planet, then shrooming is the drug for you.

Well I might as well tell you what is getting me down. This girl that Im very close to and want to be with. She lied to me. I never expected her to lie to me because I always thought "No she cant do that to me, We are too close" but anyways We were sort of "talking". I was waiting for her. She wasnt ready for a relationship. Well the other night, I think I pinpoint the real reason why I was waiting. She is scared of getting hurt, and take risk. So I was talking to her about it then all of sudden she told me she didnt have feelings for me. Now Im depressed and confused wondering if she is just lying to me and herself about her not having feelings for me..Wondering If she is just proctecting herself.
