Hey,
I read the entire PF Tek and a decent ammount of FAQs on this website, and i've been roaming around the forums too trying to learn a thing or two. I got pretty confident that i could grow my own shit, but then I bought a kit from a friend of mine, and the Grow Media or i guess substrate is a little different then the stuff described in the PF Tek, the ingrediants are Gypsum, Limestone, Vermiculite, Glysine (an Amino Acid), Dextrose, Yeast and Brown Rice Flour. The question is...should i put it in the jars with the water and sterilize it in the pressure cooker like the normal substrate, which seams completely logical, or is this some special stuff like the EZ Grow Mushroom Kit i always see in the back of high times, the kit in high times says no pressure cooker no syringes no agar seemed kinda shady to me, this kit came with a tank, heater, thermomitor, some white stuff that was in little balls called Humidity base, and some stuff called Top Cover that looks like the Grow media, any help, suggestions, critism would be greatly appreciated, i want to get this project off and running!!!

I'd return the kit and buy some 1/2 pint jars, brown rice flour, verm and a big rubbermaid container and some perlite....and reread the pf tek.

forget the kit!!! follow the PF tek. collect your supplies, they wil be cheaper than that kit proly cost.

Hrmmmm that ruins it for me, im thinking about the Dr Bluethumb beginners kit, but you mofo's said to stay away from kits, maybe ill just buy the stuff that the PF Tek says to buy, seems pretty logical i guess

Blue Thumbs kit is pretty much what's on PF's list
I think. You just don't have to run your ass off two
weekends to find it all. It's the only kit I seen so far
that seems like a reasonable deal.
Hang in there and keep reading. You may run across
the right tek to use your kit anytime. There's a whole
lot of different ways to go about this game.:peace:

yea i would recomend putting the kit away because from the way it sounds it would be more difficult that the pf tek, give the PF tek a shot first then when you have some extra spores dont let the kit go to waste go ahead and try it, but really you should go for the PF tek the first time its probabally the most failproof way to go about getting shrooms other than the myco bags...

yea ill do that then, or ill get the shit from dr bluethumb and follow the PF tek using his shit, 70 bux aint bad, if i get atleast 2/8 of shrooms it would pay for itself.... i hope this works out cuz its been a reeeeeaaaal long time since i tripped out, ny is the dryest state to ever exist when it comes to phycedelics

i cant get acid, shrooms, peyote, none of the good shit, i would pay soooo much money for that shit, i can get e bombs for 7 bux and uncut snowman for 30/g but i dont even do either of those so its like a endless circle of me finding the shit i dont wanna find, theres something mystical about phycedelics, you wont be looking for them and they'll just pop up, but when your on a journey there no were to be found
