Newark is a bad area my friend. In fact most of the area around it is straight up bad, I had my first armed robbery experience there a few weeks ago. I have a few friends that lived there and have the same opinion. The minorities over there dont really have families to feed like the people in the city, they'll do anything for a powdered and angel dusted night out. Always prepare yourself when your going out in the dark, a can of mace could save your life. Not tryin to scare you or anything, but theres alot of crazy people out there with guns and on pcp. They dont give a rats ass about anyone! Make sure your with alot of people when you go out, and dont buy drugs in that area unless your 100% positive your not going to put yourself in a potentially dangerous situation. And coda's got the right idea about the cops, old ladies get beat up and robbed pretty frequently over there, and the only thing the cops do is tell them to be careful next time.

i live 20 minutes away from newark, i wouldnt want to live there. jersey sucks, esepcially when you live here

Newark is a shit hole. I have family that lives there. I'd say stay away from it if at all possible.
