alternate nodes and flowers

so my plants have begun to show alternate noding on the newest and youngest shoots. how long until i should expect to see preflowers, they are outdoors, full sun. And, is it usual for a plant to begin alternating nodes when its like 2-3 foot high? the plants must branch and grow alot during flowering. new to the game. thanks.

Depends on the strain really. Some strains never show preflowers.

ok, ima have to bump this cuz maybe i didnt phrase my question correctly. I dont really care about preflowers, apparently they arent what i thought they were. How long until my plants differentiate between males and females? also, its like a month before the days get shorter, why are they flowering now? its a good thing i didnt go on vacation.... anyways, yeah, from alternate nodes to flowers, how long, on average. i dont know the strain, bagseeds from multiple sources. Gracias.
