    #5655345 - 05/21/06 03:10 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

i always get these sinus headaches (thats what i call em anyways) above my left eye. they dont really hurt that bad its just a lot of preassure. i get them almost every night. infact i have one right now and its the worst one ive had so far. it doesnt hurt like all the others but the pressure was so bad that it cause my eye to start watering...is there something seriously wrong here or do i just get bad sinus headaches?

They sound like sinus headaches to me, especially considering the time of year. I get them too. Prescription antihistamines and the occasional ibuprofen seem to take care of them pretty well...

You need to see a doctor, but in the time being take some Benadryl and some Tylenol and see if that helps.

Can you describe anything else? Like what kind of pain it is (sharp vs. dull/throbbing) and exactly where it is and that sort of thing? Do you just get them this time of year? Is there a lot of pollen around where you live,etc...

My mom gets headaches so bad she has to go and stay in the hospital a few days ever few months, so I consider myself damn near an expert on this.

And how long has this been going on?

It sounds like simple sinus headaches, and various OTC things can help that.

If its been going on for awhile (like 5 or 6 months) this regularly, it may be something else. Do migraines or cluster headaches run in your family? Also, you might keep an eye on barometric and other atmospheric changes having an effect on your headaches.
